about

The other day, I had heard that my favorite experimental "band" Controlled Bleeding were no more. There will still be some releasing of back logs of material, from what I've heard, but it is effectively dead as an ongoing concern.

I understand that we're all human and these things happen. I hold no ill will towards Paul Lemos and company. But it still hurt a bit as he / they have been the main inspiration behind 69 Susans and the work that Brian and I have made over the last 13 months since I started uploading experimental works of my own. So I vented in the best way possible, by pounding on a keyboard in frustration and making some curious sounds. The result is the title track.

The flip-side track "Gusts" is the opposite of "Amethyst" in some ways. It's a lo-fi, low-key, chill-out track with a smidgen of hip-hop influence to it. This week both my wife & I were both waylaid by the flu and I had some very vivid experiences happen while I was sick. This definitely informs the sound and tone of the 2 tracks I'm uploading here.
